Metamaterial
Metamaterials are artificially constructed sub-wavelength structures, designed to achieve advantageous and unusual electromagnetic properties beyond naturally existing materials. The revolutionary properties of Metamaterials mainly result from their structures, not materials themselves. In our group, we have been working on magnetic metamaterials, electric metamaterials and negative index media, and their corresponding unprecedented properties including artificial magnetism, artificial plasma, NRIM (superlens), invisible cloaking, PINRIM, THM, and dielectric metamaterials to re-write the Electromagnetics textbooks in the past 400 years.
